sending the GEEK SQUAD back to where they belong!....

Who would be sad to see them go?

....well, Me (but just a little bit!)

Freedom, sweet freedom!!!

....hmmmmm wonder what they're doing, how it's going, are they o.k., did they figure out which bus to get on, do they have all the supplies they need, did he practice manners at lunch time, did he get his locker open, did she talk to the girl sitting next to her while her teacher was talking, will he remember his jacket?, are they happy?...... what? just wondering!!!

I'm OUT!!!

But keep your ears peeled for any other contests...

It has been decided that a trip to Lagoon trumps the cupcake contest. So, if you would like a neopolitan cupcake come to my house sunday afternoon and we'll share these that I have made. I'm somewhat sad about not getting to participate (I can't lie...) but they'll just never know what they were missing. There will be other chances for my cupcakes to shine AND my family has never been, and is soooo excited to go to Lagoon. Yay!

One good thing that came from the prospects of doing the contest was that I named my little cupcake business:

"Dreamy Cupcakes"
...the sweet things dreams are made of

preparation #1: decide the flavor...

I'm a child of the "penny-candy" era!
(no really..they were 1 cent)
Do you remember those little neopolitan chewy candies?
I loved them....and dreamed about them becoming my next cupcake flavor!
Each layer has it's own personality.. chocolate, chocolate chip
strawberry (with homemade strawberry jam)
and coconut with shredded coconut
I think big white fluffy coconut frosting is going to be the BOMB!
maybe I won't high heel them?... and then again, maybe I will!

new cupcake store discovery:

Just discovered this new cupcake store in Logan... (click on their button and check out their blog... the apple pie cupcake looks so yummy and so does whatever the peach looking thing is... just go see)
Their cupcakes were delicious. Sadie had chocolate coconut - yum... and I had chocolate strawberries and cream- yum...
Guess what they are doing?
Guess who's entering? That's right!!!! ME
Wish me luck! Or meet me there! Next Friday, August 20th 5:00
hmmmm..... decisions, decisions, high heels, butterflies, pineapple flower, pie, shake, fries?.... there are multiple options and I'm a terrible decision maker. I think I'm leaning towards the "style" category and going with the heels... what do you think?

BULLETIN:

So, here's how it turned out... just in case you were curious.

by the end of the year each classes poster board will be filled with stickers, stamps, and signatures of all the kids during their birthday month.
Thanks for the tips on the trees...I like the way they turned out, wrinkling the paper was good therapy (if you know what i mean?)
now my only concern is that it's not screaming BIRTHDAY... but oh well!

cell phones and home phones

So, we made the switch to cell phones instead of a home phone. I'm not sure if I'm loving it... I get far less calls that's for sure. If you're having a hard time tracking me down... sorry! If you really need me, my contact info is here on the blog. We may even consider giving the "magic jack" a try.

So I had this idea.....

I'm working on a idea for the kids elementary school for the BIRTHDAY BOARD... It will say something like..

"Look WHOOO'S turned another year older..."

I couldn't find any owl's that were big enough for my liking... so I fashioned these from last years bulletin board scraps. I was going to use those big google eyes, but found some button's instead. I like them... they make me smile.

........ NOW.....I'm trying to come up with a way to make tree's that each owl can sit on... If you have any ideas or have seen anything OWL-ISH... do share!

sneak peak to pagent cupcakes.....

I've been asked to make cupcakes for the Miss Bear River Pagent Committee's Judges Dinner... Here is what I came up with...do you think it's pagent-y enough?
... just like the pagent girls, I'm hoping the heels will hold up to the challenge!

Not sure if I like the addition of the black... let me know what you think. Stay tuned, I have made plans for several colors and maybe even a zebra print, if I can pull it off!
