FRIDAY

What is it about Friday that makes me want to run away to some great shopping adventure, have lunch with friends and not a care in the world. I have had a few of those times.... like in Seattle, shopping in the city center and riding the monorail, or pikes place market, and lunch at "that great Mexican place"... why can't I ever remember the name of it. Or, in New York in central park with my little Mason totally oblivious of the cop car, helicopter, foot chasing bandits that came charging. New York was always adventurous. I loved the Friday's in the fall particularly in New Jersey. I would just get in my car and drive to unknown places and shop. In Chandler we lived close to a lot of shopping that was a stroller walk with my 2 little kiddlets and a trip to AJ's for a fancy treat. I remember plenty of times that come Friday I would ride across town to visit Jake for lunch with the kids and go to the golf course restaurant with all the other "lunch-break" workers. Something about Friday just makes you happy. It's a long weekend... and trust me, I've had a long week! I am happy it's Friday. And then I realize that I am in outer Mongolia.... (aka Tremonton) where there is really nothing of interest to do or see and a husband who is back to the chopping block on the old budget routine... and so I guess... me and the old diet coke buddy will just sit and look at other peoples blogs and excititng lives and reminisce.

Summer Lovin'

Time to Jam! I tried 3 recipes... 1 with crushed pineapple, sugar, and apricots. 1 with just lemon juice, sugar, apricots and a little almond extract at the end. and 1 with honey, sugar, fresh lemon juice and crystalized ginger. All in all I have about 30 jars of jam! Andrew even cooperated by sleeping all day. What a good baby! The other's helped a little too... but only so they could eat the ginger candy. It was cool stuff... it had rice paper around it that melted in your mouth. Any kind of candy that you don't have to peel off the paper just eat right through it was loads of excitement in our day. the INSPIRATION was the picture of the cake. Doesn't that look good? I think I'll make that for Family Home Evening tonight. It has the ginger kind of jam inside. YUM

He asked if I had one and then just roared! The game sortof just went down hill from there.... good times! good laughs! Thanks NICK

Have you ever seen dogs when they get all nice and cozy and upside down to sleep...exposing their bellies and letting their arms and legs just flop...Here's my little puppy all cozy and exposing the chubby little tummy he's getting. Ooooooo.. couldn't you just squeeze him... he's so cute!

the "Lunch of Champions"

After going to the $1 movie and pigging out on popcorn... Mason and I were left wanting. So while the other 2 slept...Mason and I indulged. Chocolate Crepe's yummmmmm...(just happened to have a little hot fudge in the fridge and crepes from yesterday's breakfast!) LUCKY US!! Diet Coke with Lime... the nectar of the God's.

He is the cutest big brother and I thought he deserved a treat! His reaction... "yum, that was a wierd combination!" Always the kind food critic.
