A Pumpkin load of Fall Fun

My Snazzy treats!
One of the things my kids really wanted to do this fall was rake leaves and play in them...well, we knew just where to find some, GRANDMA'S!!!!

"Leaf Angels" (apparently they are quite strenuous)

But mighty fun work.

And what is better then a good ol' roll in the grass and some cloud watching. "WOW" ... is his new favorite word.

weekends filled with these kinds of things are what make life GREAT!

BUS STOP DELIVERY

sorry... can't talk now... I'm taking a bunch of these to the bus stop... to hand them out. they are way too good to sit here and tempt me.
recipe:
your favorite batch of Peanut Butter cookies
pretzle rods (I found $1 ones that were buttery SHULTZ brand. yummy)
chocolate and carmel to drizzle

make dough, roll into balls. place pretzle on baking sheet and put dough ball on end smashing with a fork, bake for 12 min. take out and let cool. drizzle with chocolate and carmel.

It kindof tastes like a twix.

halloween and modern convieniences

We had a fun Halloween party at Grandma Anderson's house this weekend. The mom's and kids stayed to play while the dad's and Mason went hunting. Grandma Anderson is amazing at putting together a wild and scary Halloween party. The spook alley was definitely very spooky.

And... can I just give a little advice to any of you out there who are as dumb of shoppers as I am... buy way more fabric than you need. I had to go to Joann's today to find some fabric that I am using for Sadie's quilt. I ran out before I got the sashing done. Well.... none to be found at the store. CRAP! Like usual I thought about it way too late. Oh YA! I remembered that I could probably find it online, (and do it before my coupon expires... yes, I said coupon... shoker... I do know how to use them.) Sure enough I found it!

Ordered 7 yards of it, and used a 50% off coupon. YIPEE! Sucks that I have to wait for it... but oh well.

I'm in love....

Got a new blog for you... oh my goodness are these things adorable or what? Check it out BAKERELLA she was on Martha Stewart show (I'm jealous)

They look totally easy to make. The cake pops are just cake and frosting all mixed together and rolled into balls. Then the decorating gets a little tricky (this is where I'm a great copy cat and that's why you find blogs like Bakerella that inspire you) She's great too because she gives full on tutorials like this for the mini pie on a stick. Oh I'm in love.

christmas is just around the corner

So, Christmas is just around the corner and I had this great idea... it all came about after Sadie brought home a book from book mobile called "The Christmas Memory Quilt." Cute story with a great message about a little girl who learned to sew with her Grandma. She would sew the squares of fabric into long strips and her Grandma would sew the strips together, it also had a pattern on the back of the book. I decided to sew a quilt with Sadie similar to the one in the book it's a Christmas Tree Pattern, pretty simple, blocks sewn in strips to make a simple christmas tree out of green scraps. I am very excited about the idea of doing it with her and so it will be something we pull out every year for her to put on her bed during the holiday season. It would be fun to do one every year for the boys too.

Here are the fabrics..
Here is a rough idea of what the pattern will look like... only pinks and reds behind the tree. Oh goody.... a project, I can't wait!

Now if Sadie would just get home from school and get sewing.... :) just kidding, I will be patient and loving throughout this whole project, I want this to be a sweet memory. (pray for me... he he he he)

The clock is ticking...

Inspiration Point

This was the final destination of our Saturday afternoon excursion...
Inspiration Point... the top of Willard Peak
We were all a little breath taken and slightly freezing....
This is the BEAST that got us there...

WOW!
This is the MAN who had the idea!
And these are the kids who had a great time...in snow and leaves...
This is the fat faced mom>>>anyone who has photo shop please feel free to lighten up the chubby cheek area~ I'm hopeless
and this is the CUTEST BABY BOY who wouldn't pose for a picture.
So, anyone with 4-wheelers who needs a trip that will inspire ... we've found the location, but we will only take you there if you offer us a ride!
in the words of Sadie ..."maybe if we all start being really nice and all of us put it on our christmas list, Santa will bring us a 4-wheeler"...
